Who we are

Helch Market operates street-food markets, bars and event spaces in Winchester and Bournemouth, and this website. For anything about your data, contact hello@helch.uk.

What we collect, and why

Counting how busy each area is

At the market, we count how many devices are connected to each guest WiFi access point, every few minutes, to plan the space. We count devices to plan the space; we do not track you. A device's address and name are scrambled on our own equipment with a code that changes daily, so we cannot tell which phone is yours or follow it from day to day; the scrambled codes are deleted after seven days and only the counts are kept after that.

What we don't do

Meta pixel

We advertise on Instagram and Facebook, and this site uses Meta's pixel to see which of our ads work. It tells Meta when you view a page, start a checkout, add your payment details and buy a ticket, and sets Meta's cookies on your device to do that. When you buy, your email and phone number are passed to Meta in a scrambled (hashed) form to match the purchase to an ad. Meta's own privacy policy covers what it does with that. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, the pixel does not load. Purchases and free-ticket bookings are also sent to Meta from our own server (Meta's Conversions API), with your email, phone, name and postcode scrambled (hashed) in the same way, and Global Privacy Control — or having opted out on this device — stops both. You can also control ad tracking in your Meta account's ad preferences and your browser's cookie settings.

How long we keep things

Bookings, ticket records and business correspondence are kept as long as we need them to run the business and meet legal obligations (for example, accounting records), then removed.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — see data deletion, or email hello@helch.uk. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
